It's pretty weird knowing that there's another out there with the same username as me. Not bad exactly but weird.

The first time I became aware of this was a few years back when I was trying to find my DA profile so I searched for my name. I got a whole bunch of anthropomorphic (furries, scalies etc) stuff. I looked a bit further and found that there's an animator out there: www.furaffinity.net/user/corvi… who had done a bunch of commissions for folks and they were sharing them here.

It came up recently as someone accidentally tagged me in a post on here and it got me thinking. I don't want to be mistaken for someone else but equally I have no exclusivity rights to the username and have no desire to mess with their fursona (fur persona). Equally though I don't want to change a username I've been using for 20 odd years.

So, that's why I'm writing this journal I guess. Just to essentially say "I am not the Corvidius you are looking for." I guess. :D

Inspired by a guy online I'm gonna be posting up some miniatures I painted. Not saying they're any good but I'm happy enough with them.

Meh!!!

Well I've always said I'm not a journal man but here I am typing stuff for the hell of it.

I'm enjoying life at the moment. Had a ball on Saturday night and have the bite marks from a nice young lady to prove it. No idea of her name or how I persuaded her that biting me was a fun plan but hey, it's all good.

Slept well last night, I think because my fragile ego was somewhat soothed and strangely reassured by Saturday night.

I'm enjoying the LARP I play called Embraced at the moment. I am one of the folks in charge of rules and there is a lot of interesting questions being raised at the mo and I actually know the answer to them which is nice. It makes me feel useful and knowing the rules and the spirit of the rules.

Embraced is a version of White Wolfs 2nd Edition Vampire: The Masquerade, which is a game world I've been intimately familiar with since I was about 13 or 14 I think. It means I have this weirdly definate view about how it works as a whole concept and individually when it comes to certain powers and skills.

It's weird for me being clear and confident on a subject so it's a nice change.

Tin Man

I just finished watching a miniseries called Tin Man. As you can probably guess it was a re-imagining/sequal to The Wizard of OZ. It has Alan Cumming and Richard Dreyfuss in it as well as a lot of other random actors that I recognise but can't name. :)

Each Episode is about 90 minutes but I just watched all of them back to back and it was great. Very very enjoyable and I'd recommend it to all.

Favourite

I've been thinking, I'm one of those thinking types, about the concept of favourites.

From a Deviantart point of view these are a fantastic way of showing that someones work is appreciated. However my criteria for favouriting changes with my moods. Sometimes I will favourite a work simply because I think it is kinda cool and sometimes I will only favourite if the image is exceptional. Is it important in the long run?

I don't think so. it's nice to be nice and the metaphorical pat on the back it gives is normally appreciated. Plus if the image is truly exceptional i won't be able to stop myself from commenting and probably asking how something was achieved so that's alright. :)

I saw someone mention their favourite Actor/Actress today and the thought occurred to me that my favourite Actors should not be people I can name. I'm weird I know but it's true. An actor should vanish into his role and admittedly the media makes it hard for them to truly vanish but think about it. How many times have you thought "ooh that actors good, I can't remember his name but he was in". That's a good actor. Makes the film better, you know he/she/it (not forgetting our more furred actors. Lol)is good but can't remember their name. Any time you can remember a character better than the actor then the Actor has succeeded.

It makes me kind of hate the media a little. I mean if I didn't have to read about someone that i've seen on screen having kids, having affairs, having counselling then I would be able to appreciate their acting better. And really, how much is it actually in the public interest to show the public that people do stupid things, we can see that every day.

Anyway, favourites in DA are cool. But in actors is bad. End of random lecture, soliquay. And more importantly, end of my working week. Yay Me.
